A sourced planning reference for choosing the right city, state or postal-area case. Download all 30 rows with their source URLs.

9 min read

Quick answer

The US city targeting guide pairs 30 LocalSERP Proxy city workflows with states, IANA time zones, civic ZIP examples and nearby municipalities. Updated October 2026, it helps you choose a local SEO proxy setting: start with the business address, select city or ZIP, then verify the connection before checking manually.

Which US cities can I select for a local SEO check?

LocalSERP Proxy, a local SEO proxy, documents 30 US city workflows as of October 15, 2026. Choose a city in the generator, connect a clean browser profile and verify the exit before checking Search or Maps manually. The directory lists state, time zone and one sourced civic ZIP example.

Read the directory before selecting your location

The 30 entries are published city workflows, not a count of live exits. City availability varies. The civic ZIP column supplies one documented public address in the central city; it does not list every downtown ZIP or define a service boundary. The nearby places are separately named municipalities for planning additional cases. Their appearance does not promise a selectable exit there.

Download the 30-row CSV for full civic addresses and source URLs. Keep postal codes as text when importing it so Boston’s 02201 retains its leading zero. Every row uses the same review date: October 15, 2026.

How do I choose a ZIP code for a downtown search check?

With LocalSERP Proxy, a local SEO proxy, start a downtown ZIP check from a real business address and confirm its postal code with USPS. As of October 15, 2026, this 30-city guide supplies civic-address examples for planning. Select ZIP in the generator, then verify the reported exit area before searching manually.

Build one location case in four steps

  1. Start with the business address

Write the actual branch, municipality and state. Use the public civic address in this guide only as a planning reference. Confirm the client’s own postal code through the USPS lookup before selecting a ZIP.

  2. Choose the scope that answers the question

Use city for a broad city browser check, state for a rule defined by state, or ZIP for a postal-area case. Keep the state as well as the city name; similarly named places can be different municipalities.

  3. Generate and verify the connection

Choose the available scope in the residential generator and export its complete credentials. Connect a clean browser profile. Confirm the exit’s reported area and the destination’s location label before recording an observation.

  4. Keep the evidence with the selected address

Inspect Search and Maps manually. Save the exact phrase, browser context, local and UTC time, requested scope and screenshot. For a repeatable map grid, retain a rank tracker’s defined points and settings in a separate report.

What each CSV field means

FieldDefinition and source
City and statePublished city workflow and postal state code. Washington is in the District of Columbia; DC is not a state.
IANA time zoneCivil-time identifier used for the city. Use its rules for the observation date rather than applying a permanent UTC offset. IANA supplies the time-zone reference.
Civic building and addressOne named public building and its published address, sourced to a municipal or county authority. It is a reference address, not an exit location.
Civic ZIP examplePostal code in that published address. It does not describe a ZIP boundary or all downtown postal codes.
Three nearby municipalitiesEditorial examples of separate nearby incorporated places, matched by name and state to the 2025 Census Places Gazetteer. They are not an inventory list.
Source URLs and reviewedThe civic source, Census file and IANA reference accompany every exported row. Reviewed is the compilation check date; Census geography retains its 2025 edition.

Why keep the IANA time zone in a local SEO report?

A time-sensitive offer needs the customer’s intended local time as well as a UTC timestamp. IANA distinguishes America/Denver from America/Phoenix: applying one generic Mountain clock to both can produce a mismatched case. El Paso uses America/Denver, while the other five Texas entries here use America/Chicago. Preserve the identifier with the observation date instead of assuming that all Texas locations share one clock.

Indianapolis, Detroit and Louisville retain their specific IANA identifiers. A browser’s selected time zone is a separate setting from its proxy connection; changing the network city does not set the device clock. Record the browser configuration you actually used. The city, state and ZIP guide explains which scope to select, and the verification guide covers the checks before you interpret a result.

How were the neighboring places selected and checked?

We selected three useful nearby municipal names for each city, then matched the exact name and state code to the US Census Bureau’s 2025 Places Gazetteer. The file supplies place identifiers and geographic reference points. We used those points as a basic geographic check, not as a ranking measurement or a claim that the listed places share a boundary. This is an editorial selection rather than a list of the three nearest places.

The state codes matter. Philadelphia’s examples include Camden, New Jersey, and Wilmington, Delaware. Louisville’s examples are across the river in Indiana; Portland’s list includes Vancouver, Washington. Treat each municipality as a separate address case when the assignment requires it. For a wider accepted regional brief, state that scope before comparing the pages.

When should I use a different local-check method?

Use Google Ads Preview and Diagnosis first for your own campaign’s delivery question. Use a rank-tracking or geo-grid platform when you need scheduled positions or specified map points. A local SEO proxy supports a manual browser and landing-page check; the connection does not include a ranking report. Google can use several location signals, so retain its displayed location with the screenshot.

LocalSERP Proxy residential plans start at $1.50 for 1 GB. The minimum crypto account top-up is $25, and the remaining account balance stays available for later orders. Country and city targeting on every plan; in the United States also state and ZIP code; ASN targeting at no extra cost. City availability varies. View the complete prices and manual local-check method before choosing a workflow.

Questions about the city reference dataset

Are these ZIP codes a complete list of downtown coverage?

Each row contains one ZIP from a named civic building’s published address. Downtown can span several postal codes, and a postal code does not define the precise location of a proxy exit. Use the client’s actual address and USPS lookup for a branch-specific case, then verify the connection before reviewing results.

Does listing a nearby municipality mean an exit is available there?

The nearby column supplies geographic context for planning a separate case. It does not describe live proxy inventory or promise a city match. Check the generator for the location you need, and confirm the reported exit area. If a broader city or state scope answers the task, record that accepted scope explicitly.

Can this dataset tell me how Google rankings differ between cities?

It supplies reference geography and a method for selecting a check location. It contains no measured Google positions, local-pack observations or ad-delivery results. To compare a real client’s views, run permitted manual checks with controlled settings and recorded times. Use a documented rank tracker when repeated point-based positions are the deliverable.

How can a team reuse the CSV without losing useful context?

Import civic ZIP values as text, keep the state code with every city, and retain source URLs and the reviewed date. Add your own business address, requested filter, observed exit area and destination location as separate fields. Use an IANA-aware tool for local timestamps instead of copying one UTC offset into every record.
